Education
Jan is a strong believer in continuing education. There is no regulatory body certifying that the dog trainer you hire has had any education in animal behavior, any person can hang up a sign and start training animals. Some of these trainers will be good, others not so much. Some may even be harmful to your pet. An educated trainer who is looking to improve their knowledge should be a benefit to all they help.
Through attending seminars, conferences and on line courses and classes, Jan strives to increase her knowledge of the science behind animal learning. She also believes in maintaining an extensive library of works related to the learning and positive training of animals.
