Behavior Modification

Behavior Modification is for those behaviors that are more worrisome. Perhaps, your dog is lunging, pulling, growling, snarling, or snapping at other dogs or people, while out on walks or when visiting at your home. There may be many different behaviors you may find problematic or worrisome, ranging from aggressiveness, fighting, guarding, over-protective, to unfriendly behaviors, that you would like help with. Through Behavior Modification, we can help you and your dog find a path to a less stressful life while laying the foundation to a richer connection with your dog.

All Behavior Modification programs begin with an intensive Initial Consultation, where we discuss the unwanted behavior, what sets the behavior in motion, what keeps the behavior occurring, management of the environment, and goals. From there we devise a Behavior Modification plan and schedule of implementation lessons.

Implementation lessons are tailored to each specific case, with care given to the emotional needs of both you and your dog, leading to a path towards a calm, caring, less stressful life with your companion. The number of Implementation lessons are determined by the individual dog, the individual behavior issues, and the time and availability of the dog’s care givers’ to devote to training between lessons.
